If you guys follow me for long, you’ve seen that Sandals is one of my favorite destinations. I went once, and have gone back yearly since. What started off as a trip with just my mom and I, has now turned into a yearly family adults only trip. 

Let’s deep dive into Sandals Regency La Toc in St. Lucia.

Due to the fact that the only airports near us that have direct flights are Charlotte, Atlanta and Miami, we opted to pay the extra $50 (YES ONLY $50!) to fly out of Jacksonville. Did that mean we had a layover? Yes. But due to past experiences, we did our flight home in Charlotte. The Miami airport with customs is a NIGHTMARE. We will get into that on my Barbados trip. Jacksonville honestly just makes everything so easy and if we can, we will always choose to fly out of there as a group. Now personally, Orlando and Atlanta are just as easy, but when you’re flying as a group - we like to keep it simple. Also, highly recommend going ahead and doing your immigration stuff online. It was such a pain to do on a form once we got there. 

A little disclaimer: due to flight times, we flew in the day before and stayed at a VERY charming resort on the beach in the capital of St. Lucia. Our flights weren’t going to put us as the resort until around 3 or 4 pm. To me that was a waste of a whole day of VERY expensive time. We found this lovely hotel, and it slept all six of us in one room. They also helped us get from the airport and to Sandals the next day. There was a very nice lady cooking there, reminded us of my granny cooking everyone home made food. When I tell you it was incredible.. I mean incredible food. It was a smaller resort, so it felt all inclusive and high end, even though it was very affordable and not all inclusive haha. 

Now, let’s get to the good stuff. The ride to Sandals from our resort was only about 20 minutes. But from the airport it would have been around an hour. Which is the same for the other Sandals resorts on the Island. Once we arrived, it was very early. We knew our rooms wouldn’t be ready but  that is how we planned the day. Fun fact, you can arrive at Sandals really anytime after 8:30am. Your room won't be ready, but we went ahead and had our bathing suits and cover up on and ready for the day. We were able to have breakfast that morning, do the resort tour and then get in the pool and start enjoying our day at Sandals. 

Now, let me just give an overview opinion of the property as I know this is already getting long. This was my 5th Sandals resort and this one very much felt more honeymoonish. Much more relaxed and laid back than other resorts we’ve been to. The main resort area felt smaller, because the butler areas were scattered up on the hill. I’m going to do a quick bullet list with ratings and short info. 

⭐⭐⭐⭐Food - The only restaurant we didn’t get to eat at was the French restaurant. I did not have a bad meal. I really enjoyed the coffee rubbed steak at Pitons. Now.. a little life hack. My family loves sushi, so we went to Soy every night at 5:30 as an appetizer before dinner. I know, a bit excessive right? WRONG. It’s all inclusive! Eat as much as you want, drink as much as you want (with in reason people). Nothing was just extra-ordinary so that’s why I’m giving it a 4 star. 

⭐⭐⭐⭐Adult Beverages - Only time we really had an issue getting a drink was by the pool one day. But it was very easy to just get up and go to the bar to get a drink, or get in the pool and go to the swim up bar. I have been to places where I felt drinks were very heavily poured, but  I did not feel like that here. They were all very tasty. 

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Resort over all - I thought everything was clean, yummy and we had no issues in our rooms. We noticed a small leak coming from the mini fridge and they had someone there QUICK to fix it and clean it up. 

Would I return? Probably not. Honestly, our goal is to hit all of the Islands, then we will try to go back to the others, but this property is not at the bottom of my list. 

Please don’t let the initial price you see on the Sandals website scare you. These trips are not $12,000. Can they be? Absolutely. But with rack rates, 7-7-7 deals and other things these vacations are much more affordable than you think.
